School Library

Welcome to the Tamahere School Library

Your librarian is Mrs Theresa Kewish
(Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday 7.30 am-3.00 pm)

  • Each class visits our library once a week, and students are able to browse, read, and issue 2 books (this is flexible). The expectation for your class library visits is that students browse, read, and issue books. It is not a time to finish off work or be on devices. Each class issues a class library set each week and changes the books either weekly or fortnightly.
  • Each class can also issue books to have in a class library.
  • The book lending period is 2 weeks.
  • The library is open at all times except during morning tea time.
  • On Tuesday and Thursday, there is a Lego Club in the library. All students are welcome to come and play with Lego.
  • Book Week and dress up as a children’s book character is usually during Term 4 each year. Teachers/staff dress up as a children’s book character as well.
  • The Scholastic Book Fair is held in Term 3 or 4 each year.
